1. When does the fall semester run?
Our Fall 2026 semester runs August 31 through December 13. But we're open year round, we simply organize our calendar into school-year terms (Fall, Spring, and Summer), so there's always a place to begin.
Joining after the start date? Just text us at 702-742-1110 with the class you're interested in, and we'll let you know the best time to start, since many of our classes build across consecutive projects.
A few classes you can join at any time, no need to contact us first: Intro to Canvas Painting, Classical Drawing (Bargue), Kai's Portrait Class, and Saturday Weekly Art Camp.
2. Can I start after the semester has already begun?
Yes, absolutely. Because we run continuously, you can start at any time. And our semester pricing automatically prorates, so if you join partway through, you only pay for the sessions you'll actually attend, never for classes you missed. Text us and we'll help you find the best point to jump in.
3. How much do classes cost?
Semester classes work out to $45 to $65 per session, depending on the class. Semester is always the best value and our lowest per-session rate, and it prorates automatically if you start late.
Prefer to come class by class? Drop-in runs $52 to $75 per session. It's our most flexible option, though pricier than semester. Sign up for 4 or more drop-ins and receive 5% off regular classes; for Kai's Portrait class, 4 or more drop-ins earns $40 off.
4. What is the 3-for-2 Family Offer, and how do I claim it?
Enroll in two core semester programs, and your third one is free. It's household-wide, so the three programs can be split however works for your family, between siblings, between different classes for the same student, or across different ages.
And yes, adults are genuinely welcome here. We have classes designed for adults, and joining one yourself is a wonderful way to keep learning, challenge yourself, and share something in common with your kids. Many of our families do exactly that.
To claim it: register for two core programs, then text us at 702-742-1110 with the class you'd like as your third, and we'll add it for you. Your free program is applied to the lowest-priced of the three; choose a higher-priced class as your third and you simply pay the difference. Free programs are subject to availability (classes are capped at 12 to 15), apply to the fall semester only, and can't be transferred to a future semester.
Not included: Kai's Portrait Class, Maria's 6-Week Masterclass, Bash Art Saturdays, camps, private lessons, and other specialty workshops. These are individually priced and don't count toward your two or as your free third.
5. I'm brand new. Where do I start?
Start with our 4-Session Studio Pass, a focused four-week block that lets you experience a class before committing to the full semester. All supplies are included, it's one pass per person (not shared between siblings), and it's for kids and adults alike.
Text us at 702-742-1110, tell us which class you'd like to begin with, and we'll send a one-time registration link. Register, let us know, and we'll add you to your class.
For teens and adults, two classes are perfect starting points:

Intro to Canvas Painting is our gentlest on-ramp, built for the brand-new painter. We recommend staying in it for at least a month or two, long enough to build a real foundation and for us to get to know you and see when you're ready to move on. When you are, if you've prepaid, we simply apply that credit toward the class you move into, so nothing is lost.

Classical Drawing (Bargue) is the other wonderful place to begin, and it's a different kind of class: a long-term foundational discipline. This isn't a one-or-two-month class; the longer you stay, the better you get. Most students see real results after about a year as they gradually build their skills. It's the training that strengthens everything else you'll ever make.
The two even pair beautifully, both meet on Wednesday, so you can stay for the full evening and do both. Love your class? You'll roll into the rest of the semester on prorated tuition.
Already have experience? If you've attended art school, painted before, or have been active recently, you're welcome to start right in our Level 2 & 3 classes. If for any reason you're not quite ready, we'll let you know and simply have you take a few Intro to Canvas Painting sessions first.
Onenote for teens and preteens: please contact us first before enrolling in a Level 2 class, unless you're confident your child has prior classroom experience and has already produced artwork in acrylic. We want to make sure they land in the right place to thrive.
For children, Art Explorers and Painting & Drawing Essentials and Mixed Media are wonderful first steps.
6. What's the ideal schedule for my child?
Every child is different, but here's the plan we most often recommend, especially for ages 8 to 12:

7. My child loves anime and cartoons. What should they take?
We hear this all the time, and we love it. Start with Art through Cartooning & Anime (ages 8-12).
Here's why it's such a good starting point: kids are learning through subjects they already love, which keeps them engaged, but the skills underneath are real. They're studying proportion and anatomy, exploring how forms work, and building observational habits, all through characters and worlds they're excited about. It's a genuine art education dressed in something familiar and fun, which makes it a wonderful on-ramp.
From there, we always suggest adding Painting & Drawing Essentials to build core fundamentals alongside it. Doing both? Make your free third program count with Mixed Media, Clay & Decorative Sculpting or our flexible Saturday Weekly Art Camp.
8. What should I expect in my first few sessions?
Please read this one, especially if you're an adult, because it matters.
When you walk in, you're entering a new environment with new skills, new perspectives, and people at every level around you, some who've been here for years, some who just started. Go easy on yourself. Our number one rule is staying open: to new ideas, new approaches, and new opportunities.
Your first session is about getting to know the studio, the supplies, and the rhythm. You might feel a little overwhelmed. That's completely normal, just go with the flow.
After that first session, you might hear a voice saying "everyone else is doing so much better, maybe this isn't for me." That voice is wrong, and everyone has heard it. If you've made art before ("I did it as a kid, I took classes elsewhere"), gently set that aside and come in with fresh eyes and open questions.
This is exactly why we ask you to commit to at least four consecutive sessions. Your hand-eye coordination, your eye, your brain, all of it needs time to adjust, and that doesn't happen in one or two hours. Your teacher is also getting to know you and how you learn. Real growth takes a few sessions, so please don't judge it, or yourself, after the first two or three. Give it four, and you'll be amazed how much shifts.
9. What's the studio like?
Warm, social, and genuinely welcoming. Many of our students come to feel like friends, even family.
When we get to know you and offer advice, suggestions, or honest feedback, it's because we truly care about your growth. Joining Bash & Design isn't joining a business, it's joining people who treat you like a guest in their home. That's why we socialize, take breaks, and have snack time, because human connection is at the heart of how we teach.
So come in open-minded. Nobody expects you to know everything. We understand you're here to learn, to get better, and often to find a community, and we're glad you're here.
10. How do Saturdays and the Weekly Art Camp work?
Saturdays are flexible. The times you see are a window, not a commitment, choose the hours that fit your day, and mix camp with a scheduled class if you like.
Weekly Art Camp runs every Saturday, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, ages 5 to 12. The day is four one-hour sessions (11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00), each with 45 minutes of guided art and 15 minutes of playtime. Come for one hour or stay the day. Kids rotate through mediums like pencil, acrylic, and clay, and every session teaches a genuine technique.
Pricing: $35 first hour, $10 each additional, up to $65 for a full day. You only pay for the time your child attends. (Enrolled in 2 programs? Your first camp hour is free, then just $10 per additional hour.)
When to arrive: you don't have to come at 11:00, just arrive at the start of a session (11:00, 12:00, 1:00, or 2:00) so your child doesn't miss the beginning of an activity. Our day ends at 3:00.
Your child can also do camp and a scheduled Saturday class: a couple hours of camp, then their class, then back to camp if there's time.
11. Do you offer homeschool classes?
Yes. Our Homeschool Art Enrichment program for ages 5-7 meets Wednesdays 2:00 to 4:00, now two full hours, balancing focused art education with the playful, social connection homeschoolers love. Families who prefer the original 90-minute format are welcome to check out early, just let us know at drop-off. For ages 8-12, Art Social: Painting & Drawing meets Wednesdays 2:30 to 4:30.

12. What if my kids have classes at different times?
No need to drive back and forth. If one child's class starts earlier, they're welcome to wait with us, they can bring a book, a snack, or a project, and we always have paper on hand. As part of our studio etiquette, young artists are encouraged to help care for the space too. Please arrange early drop-off with us ahead of time, as it depends on staff availability. (On Saturdays, that waiting time can simply be camp.)
13. What are your specialty workshops?
These are our most focused, premium programs, individually priced and enrolled separately from the family offer. We add specialty workshops constantly, so please check our workshop page for what's currently open.
They're perfect for someone who doesn't want to commit to a full semester, or for anyone looking for more advanced enrichment to add alongside their regular education.
Current highlights:
Oil Painting: Landscape, a Masterclass with Maria. Six weeks, three hours per session, Wednesdays, in the old-master tradition of Ivan Shishkin. For advanced painters, by invitation and approval. Fall dates: September 23 to October 28, ages 18+.
The Painter's Cheat Code: Portrait Class with Kai. Open to every level, Tuesdays 5:30 to 8:30, alternating black & white and color month to month. Curious? Your first drop-in supplies are on us.
14. Do you offer drop-in?
Yes, drop-in runs $52 to $75 per session depending on the class. It's our most flexible option, though pricier than semester, and because our projects build across consecutive sessions, drop-ins work best attended in a row.
One important note on drop-in spots: if you're buying as you go, we can't guarantee your spot, even if you've been coming every week. Our classes have limited seats, and if someone enrolls in the full program, that seat is theirs. So if you're joining by drop-in, we highly recommend booking 6 to 8 sessions in advance to secure your spot and finish your project. Sign up for 4 or more and receive 5% off regular classes (or $40 off Kai's Portrait class).
15. Are supplies included?
For the most part, we provide everything unless a class description says otherwise, so always check your specific class for any additional supplies to bring.
One required item for painting classes: the Strathmore 300 Series Canvas Paper Pad (12x16", 10 sheets). This is a one-time purchase per academic year (August through May) and is kept at the studio for use during class. Specialty classes, like Maria's oil masterclass, come with their own supply list. And if you'd like to try Kai's Portrait class, we'll provide your supplies for your first drop-in as a trial.
16. What's your cancellation and absence policy?
Life happens, and we're understanding about it. The essentials:
Absences: if you'll miss a session, notify us in writing by text only to 702-742-1110 at least 2 hours in advance. With proper notice, we add a credit to your account for future use. There are no makeup sessions unless an instructor happens to be available for you to come in earlier or during open studio. No refunds are given for missed sessions.
Remember, you're committing to a set schedule, so it's okay if you occasionally miss, you're still learning, and it's fine not to finish every single piece. What matters is that you keep growing.
Specialty workshops are different: these are important not to miss, as any missed session significantly affects your project. If you must miss, we'll do our best, usually you'll come in a little early and your teacher will help you catch up, though it won't be quite the same experience.

17. How do I enroll?

18. I've taken this class for a while. What's next?
This is one of the most common questions we hear, and the answer surprises people: there often isn't a "next," and that's a good thing.
Art isn't like school, where you finish one level and move up to another. Once you've reached our Level 2 & 3 classes (for teens and adults), you continue in them, and that's exactly right. You don't graduate out of them. You grow deeper. Every session your skills accumulate, and you get better, and better, and better, until one day you realize you're creating your own work with real confidence. That moment doesn't come from switching classes. It comes from staying.
Think of it the way a serious musician keeps practicing and playing with their group for years. The room stays the same; the artist transforms. We encourage you to start making your own pieces on your own time, or during open studio hours, as your skills grow. But the class remains your home base, where you keep sharpening, learning, and being challenged.
Here's the exciting part: once you reach a comfortable, established level, you'll be invited to our special workshops for intermediate and advanced students. These are the opportunities to truly elevate your skill, and we encourage you not to miss them. They're where your growth accelerates.
(For younger children, the path does move through age-based and skill-based levels. But once you reach our adult and teen Level 2 & 3 classes, staying, and taking advantage of advanced workshops, is the path forward.)
