Art Picnic (Plein Air) at the Park

We are taking art classes outdoors! Let's face it everything is better with sunny skies and fresh air! Join us for our Art Picnic at the park! We provide all of the supplies and light snacks from local shops! We often repeat ourselves by saying "this is our favorite class", which is true. All of our classes may be awesome, HOWEVER this is definitely THE INSTRUCTOR'S FAVORITE CLASS! "Plein air" painting is a fantastic way to be immersed in your artwork. Opposed to working off of 2D still images, you are able to experience the way the light is peeking through the trees, the bellowing of the clouds, they rustling of the grass and then translate that motion and energy into your painting. This also allows you to see true pigmentation and depth which challenges your mind on how to comprehend and reciprocate that on to canvas. Our very first Art Picnic will be hosted at the Gardens Park located in Summerlin (address Garden Park Dr, Summerlin South, NV 89135) MEETING AT 9:15 You will be notified of the exact location Our Plein Air series will be hosted at different locations throughout Las Vegas Valley! There is truly no better way to explore our home city! So many Art Picnic events coming up even family days! Stay tuned! *VERY IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW You might need to come to our workshop to finish your art project. When working on plein air you are sketching your painting, you are working on composition and quickly capturing colors in the landscape that's in front of you. It's a very amazing technique to learn for outdoor projects! Nonetheless, you will be leaving our art picnic with a painting, it is totally your choice if you'd like to add more detail to it during our workshop or next Plein Air. (Workshops are held at our studio on Thursdays for an additional cost, but for a discounted rate of $35) *Please note the price of your ticket includes all of the art supplies, your own picnic set up and food (which is always about $10-$15 per person). There are no price adjustments for any reasons. Please dress accordingly (jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, just to list a few examples) bring water. This picnic will last about 2.5 hours. We are all familiar with Vegas weather, but if you're not then you should know that it could be sunny and blue skies at 10 am and thunderstorms and hurricane by 10:02 am. Jokes aside if weather changes for our Plein Air class you will be notified as soon as possible for a full refund or credited for future class.
